We would like to extend a warm welcome to Catarina and Molly, IES Hässelby's honorary school dog, who will be working at our school during Spring Term.

Catarina has more than 10 years experience working in schools as a mother-tongue teacher, study-coach, SVA teacher, and she has a lot of experience working with children with special needs.

Molly and Catarina attended the School and Therapy dog course at Hundens Hus. They are trained in working with children and how working with dog assisted activities can help.

Students working with the school dog will train and lead the dog to do tricks and circus acts, hide dog-treats, count and memorize, play fetch, learn to give commands in sequence, talk about how dogs communicate and how we should treat dogs, play different games, pet the dog and brush her coat to feel calm and relaxed, read for the school dog, do other school-work with the dog's help, take the dog for a walk outside.
